Rob R. Robinson

Visual images have always played an important role in my life. I have been drawing since before I can remember and I painted my first oil painting at 10 years old. Since then, explorations in graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, pastel, watercolor, oil, alkyd, and acrylic paints, photography and various materials in collage have captured my interest. Another interest, in geography and maps, led to a different connection to imagery - aerial photography and satellite images. My major and minor in college were geography and art and I have continued to work in both fields.

My drawings, paintings and collage have run the gamut from very detailed representational subjects, such as portraits and landscapes, to abstract to non-representational. A common style seems to exist between the very different work but my love of experimentation and variety leads to widely varying results.

My paintings on this website are from my painting trips with Dwight in California, all watercolors.
